Peter Carrescia, Co-Founder and Head of Business Development at goConfirm, spearheads the company’s strategic direction and cultivates partnerships for maximizing the potential of verified portable identity. His role at goConfirm highlights his extensive experience in the technology sector as both a business executive and a venture capitalist, with a focus on high-growth companies.

Peter’s career is marked by significant contributions to the industry. As the founding Managing Director of OMERS Ventures, he played a pivotal role in establishing the firm’s initial investment strategies and processes. Notably, in 2011, he led OMERS Ventures’ first venture round in Wave Financial. Peter then joined Wave, guiding its strategy and business development, leading up to its acquisition by H&R Block in 2019 for $537 million.

Additionally, Peter has served as president of NEXT Canada, a national accelerator dedicated to advancing Canada’s most promising young innovators and entrepreneurs. His earlier career includes senior roles at IBM Software and Microsoft.

Peter’s educational background includes a Joint Honours Bachelor of Mathematics (B.Math.) in Computer Science and Business Administration from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
